Gemeinsam mit anderen Künstlern arbeitet Monika Brückner 4 Wochen in Kristinestad. Ganz nah am Wasser, dem Wald und den Tieren kann sich die Künstlerin mit den Traditionen Vorort auseinandersetzen, diese in Bezug setzen zu den Eigenen und Neues entwickeln

Monika Brückner is working in Kristinestad for four weeks alongside other artists. Situated close to the water, the forest, and wildlife, the artist is able to engage with local traditions, relate them to her own, and develop new ideas.

Final Exhibition of the Artist in Residency Kristinestad, June 2026
After working 4 weeks in different places in Kristinestad, Finland, we will show our works at Fremdeling Gallery, Kristinestad.
My work relates to the place and traditional textile techniques and to the transformation of audios of birdsongs in the surrounding.
My colleagues will show textile and collage, founded objects brought into new context, finish fairytale characters became puppets and will be in an animation and a documentation filmmaker presents pieces of slowness

Raum und Zeit - Weite und Transparenz
Anfang und Ende
In den Arbeiten von Monika Brückner tauchen oben genannte Themen in unterschiedlicher Ausprägung immer wieder auf. Wie ein roter Faden ziehen sie sich von Anfang an durch die textile Arbeit. Hierbei haben sich Medien und Vorgehensweise entschleunigt - Zeit wird im Handsticken und Verarbeiten von Stoff und Papier sichtbar.
Familiäre, gesellschaftliche aber auch spirituelle Themen werden in dreidimensionale und auch klassiche Formen umgesetzt.
Ökologische Themen nehmen seit 2024 einen neuen Raum in der Arbeit ein.

In Monika Brückner’s work, the themes mentioned above recur time and again in various forms. Like a red thread they are running through the hole texitle time. The way of working and the medias have a deceleratin. time becomes a visual factor in handstitching and by the forming of fabrics and paper into artwork.
Society and familiar circumstances as well as spiritual themes are formed into three dimensional as well as in classic artwork.
Ecological topics have taken on a new role in our work since 2024.
